Meet Our Founder: Philemon Mutisya

CycleEdge was founded by Philemon Mutisya, a passionate cyclist and tech entrepreneur who recognized the need for a unified platform to serve Africa's growing cycling community. As an active member of the local cycling scene, Philemon has seen firsthand the challenges faced by cyclists and cycling businesses.

His vision was to create a digital ecosystem that would connect all aspects of the cycling world - from professional riders to weekend enthusiasts, from small bike shops to major manufacturers. What began as a simple idea to help local cyclists find group rides has grown into Africa's most comprehensive cycling platform.

"Cycling transformed my life, and I wanted to create something that would make cycling more accessible, safer, and more rewarding for everyone across Africa. CycleEdge is more than a business - it's a movement to put Africa on the global cycling map."

Platform Launch

Successfully launched the CycleEdge platform with initial partnerships with 5 local bike shops and 3 cycling clubs in Nairobi. Our beta version attracted 1,000 users in the first month, validating the need for a unified cycling platform in Africa.

First Major Event

Hosted the Nairobi Challenge with over 200 participants, marking our first major cycling event promotion. The success of this event led to partnerships with 15 additional cycling clubs across Kenya and Tanzania.
